On the free tier, everything stays in your own browser or on your own phone. It is never sent to us, which also means we cannot recover it for you.
Clearing your browser data erases it. Use Settings → Import & Export → Download a full backup regularly and keep the file somewhere safe. That backup contains everything, including receipt photos, and restores onto any device.
Download a backup on the old device and restore it on the new one. Restoring merges rather than replacing, so running it twice never duplicates anything. With Pro, your expenses sync automatically and receipts are restored from cloud storage.
You can photograph a stack of receipts before entering any expenses. They wait in the gallery's inbox until you turn each one into an expense or attach it to one you already entered.
If a photo fails to save, the device is out of space. The expense itself is still saved. Export a backup, remove some receipts, and the photo will fit.
An Odyssey export sets up your children, awards, and carryover automatically. Any other spreadsheet works too: we match your column names, and ask only when we genuinely cannot tell which column is which. Importing the same file twice is safe, because rows that already exist are detected and skipped.
Nothing is deleted and nothing is locked. Your data stays on your device and the app keeps working; syncing and receipt backup simply stop. Download a backup before cancelling if the cloud copy is your only one.
